Jordan Khong was walking in Sydney’s Surry Hills in September last year when he saw a blue-and-white e-bike flash past and disappear into a double-fronted Victorian shopfront. Intrigued, he Googled the brand – Milkrun – and discovered it was a new company promising to deliver groceries to people’s homes in select Sydney suburbs within 10 minutes.
A pilot who’d been stood down during the pandemic, Khong was working part-time delivering luxury cars such as Ferraris to high-net-worth Australians. Disenchanted with the luxury car business, and the clientele, he was looking for something different as he waited for the aviation sector to recover. He applied for a job with Milkrun that evening, and two days later he was employed.
