Google to test its artificial intelligence-powered search in Australia
Google is about to start testing summaries of search results generated by artificial intelligence in Australia, in the most significant change to the user and business experience of the ubiquitous platform in years.
Alphabet, which owns the Google search engine and video platform YouTube, has been briefing stakeholders in Australia that its AI Overviews will arrive as an “experiment” for a small percentage of users in the next few days, sources with knowledge of the plans, not permitted to speak publicly, said.
