Private equity-backed Soprano Design, a communications software company run by ex-Appen chief executive Mark Brayan, wants to take ASX minnow Whispir private in a $62.9 million deal.
Whispir, a cloud-based communications technology company, advised its shareholders not to do anything on Monday while it assessed the all-cash takeover bid from Soprano pitched at 48¢ a share. The target’s software is used to automate communications over SMS, apps such as Whatsapp, voice, chatbots and email.
