London | A British judge on Thursday sentenced Australian maverick cryptocurrency entrepreneur Craig Wright to a year’s jail for contempt of court, and struck off his latest £900 billion ($1.8 trillion) lawsuit against a host of bitcoin companies.
Dr Wright, 53, who this year moved from Britain to an undisclosed country in Asia, dialled into the London court by video link to hear his sentence, which has been suspended for two years – meaning he will avoid prison if he keeps his head down.
