Amazon will target businesses and government customers with a new marketplace product, intensifying competition with local retailing giants like Officeworks, Harvey Norman and JB Hi-Fi.
The marketplace’s launch comes as analysts forecast Amazon’s local sales could top $9 billion this year. Amazon Business will offer discounts and fast delivery for companies and government on products like IT equipment, stationery, office furniture, cleaning supplies and pantry items.
