Tabcorp approaches Hong Kong racing heavyweight for key appointment

New Tabcorp chief executive Gillon McLachlan is poised to ink a second marquee hire since joining the bookmaker, and will appoint Hong Kong Jockey Club executive Michael Fitzsimons to run wagering operations, investor sources said on Wednesday.

The appointment of Fitzsimons would come just a month after Tabcorp hired former Paramount executive Jarrod Villani to run its Sky Racing business and the ASX-listed wagering group’s commercial operations.
