Pemba in exclusive talks to buy Allianz’s Hunter Premium Funding

Insurance juggernaut Allianz SE, capitalised at €114 billion ($186.6 billion) on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, is bidding farewell to its Australian insurance premium funding business.

Street Talk can reveal Sydney mid-market private equity investor Pemba Capital Partners has secured exclusivity over Allianz’s Hunter Premium Funding business, which makes $2 billion in annual insurance premium funding turnover. Pemba will house Hunter in its $625 million Fund III, separate from its Arteva Funding business which sits in Fund II and is about half the size of Hunter.
