Italy’s Enel poised to acquire DIF’s $800m renewables portfolio

European infrastructure investor DIF Capital Partners and local industry super fund Cbus have found a buyer for their 80.1 per cent stake in Bright Energy Investments, the owner of a 1.1-gigawatt portfolio of solar, wind and battery assets across Australia.

Street Talk can reveal global utilities giant Enel Group, capitalised on the Italian exchange at EUR73 billion ($119 billion), has secured exclusivity over Bright Energy, besting binding offers from the Florida-headquartered I Squared Capital, Japanese-backed renewables player Atmos and local core-plus infrastructure house Palisade.
