Ampol flags $600m equity hole in Z Energy bid

Ampol has a potenital equity raising hanging over its head following confirmation it is in exclusive talks to acquire New Zealand’s Z Energy.

Ampol said the bid, worth $NZ3 billion ($2.87 billion) including debt, would be funded with new debt facilities, proceeds from any divestments (its Kiwi petrol business Gull is the logical one) and equity issuance worth about $600 million.
