The trend nowadays is to rename events and places to acknowledge historical pain. Take how Australia’s and England’s rugby federations replaced the “Cook Cup” with the “Ella-Mobbs Cup”, named after footballers from both nations.

Then sometimes, some clowns go the other direction. Just consider how in Ipswich, in south-east Queensland, a bunch of councillors has astonishingly sought to reinstate the name of a bridge that got its moniker from a corrupt, sex offender mayor.
