Nobody seems to be lavishing outgoing NSW Labor Leader Michael Daley with praise since Saturday’s poll, but one thing you can’t fault (besides its seclusion) was his campaign’s success in Coogee.
The beachside eastern suburb – made famous by its Swedish backpackers, its NRL dimwits and the STIs they tenderly give each other – was a rare ALP gain as Premier Gladys Berejiklian successfully defended all other Liberal-held seats in the state (East Hills remains too close to call but the sitting MP is ahead).
