There’s no other way to say it. Metcash updated shareholders on a cringeworthy error to its 2024 AGM results this week.

The retail conglomerate led by CEO Doug Jones – overseer of brands such as IGA supermarkets and Mitre 10 – claims to have recently learnt from its securities’ registry supplier Boardroom that it hadn’t properly counted its proxy forms.
