Jeff Kennett to chair Equity Trustees

It's safe to assume Jeff Kennett prefers it down in the weeds. Because while he sits on Seven West Media's board (as a bomb chucker for Kerry Stokes) he's now to be chairman of listed specialist trustee, and small-cap, Equity Trustees. We never picked this quaint administrative corner of financial services to be colourful (let alone large) enough for the former Premier, Hawthorn president and now company director and talking head. EQT's market capitalisation is currently a modest $354 million (which is roughly $1 for every thing Jeffrey has to say on any given issue).

As we noted last year, Equity Trustees' veteran chairman Tony Killen announced his retirement in March 2016 but, by April, chief executive Robin Burns resigned following having been on "extended sick leave" for an otherwise unspecified period.
