The managing partner of Australia's largest legal partnership has taken this column and its publisher to the Australian Human Rights Commission, arguing that a headline that punned on his name offended, insulted and humiliated him, based on his Spanish heritage.

Juan Martinez, of HWL Ebsworth, has in recent weeks been fielding the considerable logistical and strategic challenges posed by having six of his staff test positive for coronavirus, resulting in the Melbourne office of the firm being deemed a coronavirus cluster.
