On Thursday, powerful industry superannuation figures were moved to speak out against the recent promotion of Boe Pahari to lead AMP Capital after he was financially penalised for sexually harassing a subordinate, who subsequently left the company.

Debby Blakey, chief executive of healthcare industry fund HESTA, told this newspaper that “the handling of the promotion … fell well below current community standards of fairness” and that “failure to align with society’s values … is taken very seriously by long-term investors”.
