Barely weeks after his countryman Boris Johnson came, saw and in a foppish-hair-kind-of-way conquered, come whispers that former EU trade commissioner and key figure in Tony Blair's New Labour, Peter Mandelson is set to visit our shores.

Lord Mandelson is rumoured to be heading down in early October, his passage to the colony being made in the company of corporate law firm, Herbert Smith Freehills.
