It’s been seven years since AMP’s reputation was torn to shreds by Kenneth Hayne’s 2019 banking royal commission, one of the biggest sinners in charging clients for services they never received and doing nothing about it.
In the intervening years the company has dealt with several court cases and is now working it way through a $100 million-plus class action payout. Then there are its poorly-performing superannuation products and the small matter churning through a trio of CEOs (currently, Alexis George) and the same number of chairs.
