Vic housing scheme part of Andrews’ planning ‘takeover’
The Victorian opposition has slammed proposals being considered by the Andrews government to block residents from objecting to medium density housing projects as long as developers commit to making a portion of new developments affordable housing.
Premier Daniel Andrews is working on a comprehensive housing package that could also limit landlords to increasing rent once every two years, a policy that both the Real Institute of Victoria and former Labor strategist turned pollster Kos Samaras have criticised.
