Developer Fortis has locked horns with local residents and the City of Sydney over a planned $214 million residential project aiming to replace rental housing with luxury apartments in one of the city’s wealthiest harbourside suburbs.

It is common for developers to find themselves at odds with residents. But what is unusual is that the Elizabeth Bay locals oppose a proposal that would reduce – rather than increase – the number of homes in the suburb.
