Home-building is picking up speed on the back of lower borrowing costs and planning changes, but much-needed new housing will do little to dent Australia’s largely unaffordable pricing – and may even inflate values more.
After a dip in the December quarter, new housing starts jumped nearly 12 per cent in March to a quarterly clip of 47,650 homes, the most in three years.
