Metricon Homes said it was solvent and paying all of its subcontractors and suppliers on time as questions about the finances of the country’s largest home builder prompted Prime Minister Scott Morrison and the Victorian government to express their support for the company.
Metricon’s acting chief executive, Peter Langfelder, on Thursday said the privately owned company had “headroom” on its credit facility with lender Commonwealth Bank, but declined to provide any further detail and insisted the company was up-to-date with payments to all trades and suppliers.
