Newcastle, once dubbed a “working man’s paradise” by Glaswegian comedian Billy Connolly during a tour of Australia, just clocked a residential record, with the sale of a $12 million Victorian Italianate mansion.

Located in coveted suburb The Hill, the home, known as Woodlands, was sold in an off-market deal by Michael Maffey, of Maffey Property Services, on behalf of medico vendor Jaswant Chahl and his family.
