Scentre CEO backs vaccine exit path, hopes malls can open in October

Peter Allen, chief executive of Westfield owner Scentre, has strongly backed the Doherty Institute vaccination targets as the path out of lockdowns, amid hopes the major malls will reopen by late October, in time for the all-important summer trading period.
Mr Allen pointed out detailed visitation analysis across Scentre’s portfolio showed how quickly customers returned once lockdowns were eased.
