Cinema and hospitality heavyweight EVT Ltd has doubled its statutory profit to $106.5 million for the 2023 financial year, booking in record returns from its hotels and Thredbo resort business and flagging a strong return in movie audiences.

While too late to register in its 2023 financials, the company – rebranded from Event Hospitality & Entertainment last year – can already bank on a box office bounce from the “Barbenheimer” double-whammy release of the Barbie and Oppenheimer movies.
