A member of the NSW Liberals state executive has slammed the party’s leadership over the failure to choose candidates for a federal election likely to be held in four months.

As negotiations between faction leaders were put on hold while Prime Minister Scott Morrison was distracted by critical text messages about his personality, members of the committee responsible for overseeing election preparations blamed his representative, Immigration Minister Alex Hawke, for failing to attend meetings to vet potential candidates.
