Victoria’s $14 billion Metro Tunnel has been delayed and taxpayers will be left on the hook, the state’s auditor-general has warned.
There is insufficient contingency funding to finish the Metro Tunnel – which was originally expected to cost $10.9 billion when announced in 2016 – because of a nine-month delay, a report tabled in state parliament on Thursday by Victorian Auditor-General Andrew Greaves revealed.
