Unions go after Aware Super, Lendlease over New York building project

The CFMEU and other unions are targeting superannuation giant Aware Super in landmark action for what they claim is the use of non-union labour and poor contracting practices on a $1 billion New York apartment project in which it has a stake.

A heavy crowd of unionists picketed Aware Super’s headquarters in Sydney on Tuesday and organisers warned that they might step up the campaign and urge the more than 1.1 union members who are Aware customers to pull their retirement savings from the fund over the dispute.
