‘The scare campaign ends’: Qld premier’s shock abortion move

Queensland Premier David Crisafulli has shocked parliament with a motion banning any bills or debate on abortion laws, effectively ruling out any prospects to repeal termination of pregnancy legislation.
The surprise move followed a heated state election campaign in October, when the Liberal-National leader was repeatedly dogged over the sensitive issue, and the campaign was overshadowed by Labor’s attack lines.
