Last week’s Queensland election did not just slam the door on Labor’s near-decade reign in the state. It also dealt a blow to hopes in federal Labor that the Sunshine State could deliver some additional seats at the next poll, due by May 2025, to stave off the prospect of a minority government.
Amid declining popularity in the polls, the Albanese government looks likely to lose some of the 77 seats it holds at the next election.
