Retired stars in battle for swanky Mornington Peninsula

Paul Mercurio of Strictly Ballroom fame and former tennis player Sam Groth need to win on the Mornington Peninsula for their respective political sides to do well at Victoria’s state election on Saturday.

Mr Groth, who rose to a top 100 ranking in singles and doubles in world tennis, is the favourite to win Nepean, which covers the prestigious southernmost tip of the peninsula and is held by Labor’s Chris Brayne.
