‘Radar didn’t go off’: Berejiklian trusted Maguire despite concerns

Former NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian said her “radar didn’t go off” after her secret boyfriend Daryl Maguire gave evidence at the NSW anti-corruption watchdog in 2018, an inquiry has heard.

In her last day of evidence at the Independent Commission Against Corruption the former premier maintained she trusted Mr Maguire despite a “cloud” of corruption, disputed whether she lied to staff in 2018 about whether the relationship was ongoing, and said she never felt she had anything to report to the watchdog about her lover.
