Queensland warned to expect spike in cases as border reopens

Queensland’s new Chief Health Officer, John Gerrard, says a spike in new COVID-19 cases will be inevitable now the state has opened its borders with NSW and Victoria.

With more than 24,000 applications for Queensland border passes up to 10am on Monday, Police Commissioner Katarina Carroll warned there would be delays on the NSW-Queensland border as stranded residents returned home to Queensland.
