PwC leak prompts NSW to consider fines for betrayal of trust
Big businesses, consultancies and industry groups that leak sensitive tax and other information to clients and stakeholders could face multimillion-dollar fines, under a NSW government plan being considered following the PwC tax leaks scandal.
As federal departments and political offices weigh up contracts with big consultancies after PwC was found to have leaked sensitive federal tax advice to partners and advisers inside the business, NSW Finance Minister Courtney Houssos has emerged as the first state mover to crack down on leaks.
