Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk insists she is the best person to lead Labor to the 2024 state election, despite a new poll showing her government is on track to lose.

Ahead of the Fadden byelection on the Gold Coast on July 15, the AFR/Freshwater Strategy poll is also bad news for Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, who is trying to help federal Labor regain a foothold in the Sunshine State at the next national election due in 2025.
