Victorian Energy Minister Lily D’Ambrosio says the state’s offshore wind strategy remains on track despite no progress being made on a key terminal months after the federal government blocked it on environmental grounds.
Four months after federal Environment Minister Tanya Plibersek vetoed the Port of Hastings due to unacceptable damage to wetlands at Western Port Bay, Ms D’Ambrosio said Victoria would need “several” ports to deliver offshore wind but could not guarantee they would be built in the state.
