A wealthy member of the NSW Liberal Party has named federal Immigration Minister Alex Hawke, state president Philip Ruddock and federal president John Olsen as defendants in a lawsuit designed to protect the state executive from federal intervention.
Mathew Camenzuli, a state executive member from the party’s right-wing faction, filed a lawsuit on Monday in the NSW Supreme Court asking a judge to rule the state executive can continue to run the party after its term ends next week.
