NSW Labor leader Jodi McKay resigns ‘for unity’

NSW Opposition Leader Jodi McKay has become the highest profile casualty of Labor’s inability to appeal to working class voters after a poor byelection result in the state’s coal communities, as the party remains divided federally over its climate and energy policy.
“I have spent the last six days reflecting on how to achieve unity,” she told reporters on Friday. “This is the only way I know that I can unite our party.”
