NSW delays budget, flags ‘tough choices’
NSW Treasurer Daniel Mookhey has delayed the budget by three months and told taxpayers to brace for pain as he prepares to swing the axe on Coalition spending promises.
The new treasurer has prepped taxpayers for spending cuts, project changes, and shake-ups to some of the Coalition’s signature budget initiatives – such as its NSW Generations Fund – as he attempts to stabilise a budget stretched by the Liberals’ $115 billion infrastructure pipeline.
