NSW Chief Justice to retire

NSW Chief Justice Tom Bathurst called time on his decade in office on Thursday, saying the Supreme Court needed to be “reinvigorated” as it heads to its 200th anniversary,

The court’s chief judge in equity, Justice Julie Ward, is the favourite to replace him, if the government decides not to give the job to a senior silk. She would be the state’s first female chief justice.
