NSW budget deficit to hit $8.6b, but evaporate by 2025

NSW is seizing on the coronavirus pandemic to introduce long-term reform, according to NSW Treasurer Dominic Perrottet, something that economists say other governments are failing to do.

Reform and stimulus measures will expand NSW’s deficit to $8.6 billion in 2021-22 from last year’s revised deficit of $7.9 billion, at the height of the pandemic downturn.
