Opposition leader Michael Daley’s “statement of fact” that young people are moving out of Sydney and are “being replaced by international workers” from Asia is not true, according to a newly compiled Australian Bureau of Statistics data set.
“It’s just a statement of fact that our young people are moving out of Sydney because they can’t afford to live here and they’re being replaced by international workers,” Mr Daley said in September last year, in a video that has resurfaced three days before the state election.
