John Pesutto wins Liberal leadership in Victoria by one vote

John Pesutto won the Liberal leadership by just one vote, returning to Victoria’s parliament after four years in the political wilderness and promising to lead a constructive opposition that will hold Daniel Andrews’ Labor government to account.

Mr Pesutto, 52, defeated Brad Battin 17-16 votes in Thursday’s leadership contest to replace Matthew Guy, who resigned after leading the Coalition to a humiliating third consecutive election loss.
