ICAC links Simon Zhou to mystery $50,000 donation

The man at the centre of the Ryde planning controversy, deputy mayor Simon Zhou, and his associates have been named as contributing to a mysterious $50,000 cash donation to the Labor Party, flagged as suspicious by the NSW corruption watchdog.

The donation was banked on April 20, 2016, after a Chinese Friends of Labor fundraiser, despite the party not knowing who had given the money.
