But is it worth heels? It’s been a long time since a restaurant was judged by the number of diamante-studded stilettos that click across its tiled floors, but Maison Bâtard has revived the 1990s in more ways than one. The Christian Louboutin boutique must be loving it.

This is a place built for excess, and it’s infectious. During the Grand Prix weekend in March, the 2009 Domaine Leroy Chambertin Grand Cru was poured for a table of international guests for a cool $88,000.
