Higher dam wall won’t stop flood pain for Warragamba residents

In Warragamba on Sydney’s southwest fringe, many residents support raising the dam wall but the local mayor is not one of them.

Wollondilly Shire mayor Matt Gould said a plan put forward by the NSW government to increase the dam wall by 14 metres would not solve the flood problem. In fact, it could make things worse by stoking complacency about the risks.
