The National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) started on July 1, and after just one day it had before it 49 referrals for investigation. It remains to be seen whether those referrals come from concerned citizens reporting genuine suspicions of corruption, or from political apparatchiks keen to immediately weaponise it as a tool for the takedown of enemies.
By its very design, there is substantial risk that it will be used for the latter purpose.
