Reform of the points test used for skilled migrants looking to live permanently in Australia should prioritise full-time workers who have settled in locations with the biggest skills shortages, business has told Labor.
As both the Albanese government and the Coalition pledge to slash the number of overseas workers and international students coming into Australia, reform of the points test used for two-thirds of Australia’s permanent skilled intake is ongoing.
