Coalition shifts goalposts on immigration cuts
The Coalition has confused its message on cuts to Australia’s immigration intake after shadow treasurer Angus Taylor said net overseas migration would be reduced by 25 per cent over three years by a Dutton government.
During his budget reply address at the National Press Club on Wednesday, Mr Taylor said both permanent migration and net overseas migration would be cut by a quarter.
