Xi: China-Australia ties deserve to be cherished

Bali | Australia and China agreed to bury the hatchet during a historic meeting between Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday night, but both sides cautioned there was a long way to go before the relationship would return to normal.

In the first formal meeting between Mr Xi and an Australian prime minister since Malcolm Turnbull in 2016, both leaders acknowledged the fractured relationship and said it needed to be repaired for the good of both nations.
