Worries over China help Australia find unlikely allies

It has been dubbed “NATO Lake”, in recognition that eight of the nine countries that front the Baltic Sea are members of the West’s biggest military alliance.
And in late July, two Chinese warships sailed through the middle of it, raising European eyebrows given they were 7500 kilometres, as the crow flies, from their home port in the South China Sea.
